The Department of Administration, Rehabilitation, and Postsecondary Education serves as the organizational home for the Interwork Institute. The core of the Institute is its formal linkage to SDSU academic programs, outlined above.

Certificate in Community College Teaching
Projections from the California Community College Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) indicate that by the year 2010 over 18,000 new full-time faculty will be needed to teach the estimated 500,000 new community college students and replace the thousands of existing faculty who will be retiring from the state's community colleges. This graduate certificate program in Community College Teaching provides completers with these experiences and competencies.

Certificate in Post-Employment Training - American Indian Rehabilitation (PET-AIR)
San Diego State University (SDSU) has established a program entitled Post-Employment Training-American Indian Rehabilitation (PET-AIR). This project is a 21-unit advanced graduate certificate program designed to provide post-employment training for rehabilitation personnel who coordinate and manage programs for American Indian consumers served through the state-federal and Tribal rehabilitation systems.

Certificate in Post-Employment Training - Administration of Programs Serving Individuals who are Deaf, Late-Deafened and Hard of Hearing (PET-D)
The PET-D Program provides administrative training to leaders in agencies serving individuals who are Deaf, late-deafened and hard of hearing. This program was established at SDSU in 1987.

Certificate in Post Employment Training - Rehabilitation Administration (PET-RA)
San Diego State University (SDSU) has developed a program entitled, "Post Employment Training in Rehabilitation Administration" (PET-RA) This program consists of a, 21-semester hour graduate certificate in Rehabilitation Administration. The intent of the program is to provide academically credited, continuing education for rehabilitation personnel who are, or who will be, coordinating and managing programs for consumers served through the state/federal rehabilitation system.

Certificate in Rehabilitation Technology
Offers both formal classroom instruction and guided problem solving opportunities in designing, building, customizing, and delivering rehabilitation technology for enhancing the integration of individuals with disabilities into school, residential, community, and employment settings.

Certificate in Supported Employment and Transistion
The purpose of this certificate is to prepare specialists who can develop and implement programs in supported employment and adult community living for youth and young adults with disabilities. A student may elect to emphasize programs for people with either moderate and mild or severe and multiple disabilities.

Certificate in Workforce Education and Lifelong Learning (C-WELL)
This 15-unit graduate certificate program offers advanced study and field-based research opportunities for educators interested in leadership roles in adult education. The certificate is particularly appropriate for developers of education and training programs for adults and non-college bound youth.

Adult and Vocational Education Credential - Professional Development Coursework
This two-level program first helps occupational and adult teachers develop survival-level classroom skills and then assists them in making the transition to full-time professional educators. These courses are approved by the San Diego Office of Education and partially meet the requirements to clear the preliminary credential.

Pupil Personnel Sevices Credential
The Rehabilitation Counselor Program has an agreement with the Center for Careers in Teaching, the Dean of the College of Education, and the Counseling and School Psychology (CSP) Department whereby RCP students can pursue their PPS credential at the same time they are working on their Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling.
